Dr. Matthew Killingsworth's work focuses predominantly on the causes of happiness. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and is also the creator of the iPhone app Track Your Happiness that was used as a part of his global experiment.

While he was a doctoral candidate at Harvard University in 2009, Matthew Killingsworth and his colleague, Daniel Gilbert, created TrackYourHappiness.org and launched the app to monitor people's happiness levels at random moments of the day. His research revealed stunning results, which led to publications including 'A Wandering Mind is an Unhappy Mind.'

Matthew Killingsworth's presentations reveal his passion for discovering the root cause for people's unhappiness in order to increase genuine happiness.

Prior to earning his Ph.D. in Psychology from Harvard University, Matthew Killingsworth attended Duke University where he received a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Economics.
