Sewa Beats offers high-energy keynotes that use music as a metaphor for success, leveraging the power and excitement of West African drumming.
Sewa Beats keynotes go beyond learning about a topic by using music to create a rich and diverse experience of the topic. Rather than just watching and listening, audiences participate in making music together, using experiential learning to explore what music teaches us about being successful in today’s rapidly changing world.
Sewa Beats was founded in 2000, and has delivered programs in 19 countries, 7 languages, and reached more than 300,000 participants around the world. Sewa Beats’ clients include many Fortune 500 companies such as BMW, Pfizer, Bank of America, Capital One, Johnson & Johnson, and Nike.
Sewa Beats uses music to bring to life topics such as leadership, DEI, change management, communication, and teamwork. While exploring the fascinating world of West African music, audiences learn to play or clap various polyrhythms and become their own percussion orchestra. Supported by the most relevant research on the given topic, Sewa Beats debriefs each step along the way, exploring the learnings involved with dynamically applying various professional skills in this unique musical context. By the end of the session the audience has been challenged to play a piece of music in a very short time, and their success produces a real feeling achievement. Not to mention, everyone feels engaged and energized!
A portion of the proceeds from your Sewa Beats keynote will be donated to Lighting Up Lives, a non-profit organization working to change lives in West Africa. Through collaboration with local villages, Lighting Up Lives is helping make a difference in the areas of health, education, sanitation and sustainable energy. By engaging Sewa Beats, you help make the world a better place!
Sewa Beats keynotes are available in-person or virtually. Virtual audiences can participate using found-object instruments from home (pots, pans, boxes etc.), or optionally receive a small imported drum shipped directly to them. These instruments are hand-made in West Africa and their construction supports employment for local families and villages. In-person audiences participate with clapping, speaking and improvised on-hand instruments (pens, coins, lanyards, etc.).
