Alejandro Jadad is a physician, healer, philosopher, educator, researcher, innovator and public advocate whose mission is to enable people - either as individuals or groups - to imagine and to create better ways of living as part of a flourishing planet.
Alejandro Jadad has been called a 'human Internet', as he follows a ‘high-touch’ and ‘high-tech’ approach to identifying and connecting the best minds, the best knowledge and the best tools across traditional boundaries to enhance the capacity of humans to create and promote new and better approaches to healing, working, loving and learning across the world.
Alejandro Jadad’s work focuses on the creation of a pandemic of health and well-being through an approach known as radical 'glocal' innovation, which harnesses the creativity motivated by high levels of uncertainty, especially in the presence of existential crises.
Alejandro Jadad’s initiatives enable people and organizations to thrive through the judicious use of state-of-the-art methods for unlearning, scenario design and crisis management, fuelled by unusual questions and imaginative thinking. Such efforts led to the emergence of the best integrated network of health services in the world, with results that exceeded those of all 36 OECD member countries, with only 25% of average expenditure.
Alejandro Jadad is also the creator of the Jadad Scale, the first validated instrument to assess the quality of controlled clinical trials, and of tools to enable team members to improve and protect their own mental health and well-being, and achieve the highest level of performance in their organizations.
In 2020, building on the experience with this integrated healthcare service network, Alejandro Jadad spearheaded the incubation of an ecosystem for sustainable well-being in collaboration with a non-profit entity serving over four million people affiliated with 95,000 organizations.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Alejandro Jadad built on his experiences during the SARS and N1H1 outbreaks, on hospital protection and on national preparedness initiatives to support mitigation and containment efforts internationally.
Alejandro Jadad is the Founder of the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation, designed as an incubator of the future, at the University of Toronto; and Chairman of Beati Inc.
