One of the 25 most powerful women selected by top publication People en Espanol, María Marin is the go-to-leader for motivation and inspiration in the Latino community and one of the most influential women in Latin America.
María Marín’s message of motivation, personal growth and success reaches millions through her newspaper columns, best-selling books, international seminars and radio show. Her insights and advice on relationships, personal growth, negotiating, and women’s issues are highly sought-out, making her one of the most influential women in Latin America.
María Marín’s personal experiences are also a source of inspiration. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was 9 years old. Her loneliness drove her to find comfort in food, and she struggled with being overweight. At the age of 15, she learned that a new battle awaited her as she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes (Type 1) and that she would depend on insulin injections for the rest of her life. Currently, Marín teaches people with diabetes how to cope with their condition, so that they too can enjoy a normal and healthy lifestyle. She is an honorary national spokesperson for the ADA (American Diabetes Association).
María Marín reached a new milestone when her first book, Mujer sin límite, reached the top of the non-fiction bestseller list on its first month on sale. Her second book, Pide más, espera más, y ¡obtendrás más!, reached the top of the non-fiction bestseller list on its first week on sale. Marín is also the best-selling author of Si soy tan buena, ¿Por qué estoy soltera? (If I am so fabulous, how come I’m single?)
Each week millions tune in to her syndicated radio show, María Marín Live, and Radio Ink Magazine has named her one of the most influential women in radio due to her successful national radio show, “Tu vida es mi vida”. Her broadcasting talent is also portrayed in her weekly motivational segment on Telemundo′s (NBC) Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste Arraras and Univision’s morning show Despierta América, where she uses real life situations to help people make better decisions in their lives.
Off air, María Marín′s international newspaper column, “Mujer sin límite,” is published weekly in the top 50 markets in the United States and abroad. In addition to her weekly newspaper article, Marín′s monthly column, “Supérate,” in People en Español reaches over 20 million readers every month.
María Marín is the leading motivational icon among Hispanics worldwide; whether she is presenting a negotiating seminar to a corporation, or speaking to a women′s organization about self-confidence, her knowledge, inspiration and compelling messages have changed people's lives forever.
