Travels from New York, New York, USA

Joe Toscano is a Silicon Valley influencer, an authority on ethical aspects of technology and its effect on people. He is featured in the Netflix hit "The Social Media Dilemma."

Joen Toscano used to be an Experience Designer at R/GA on his Google team, which was embedded on campus in Mountain View. It was cool, but he didn't care. That was not what he signed up for; he signed up to make a meaningful impact on the world, and as time went on he felt that just wasn't an option.

Joen Toscano left in early 2017 because of ethical concerns within the industry, and decided his time would be better spent helping make change from the outside. Since then, he’s written a book called Automating Humanity, traveled to more than 19 different states and nations across four different continents to speak about ways to resolve technology's ethical dilemmas, and launched the Better Ethics and Consumer Outcomes Network (BEACON) to help inspire purpose driven innovation within the industry.

Joen Toscano’s BEACON has the purpose to create a better future, through technology. Their day to day is spent helping companies proactively identify issues and translate those issues into positive-sum business—solutions that improve both the situation for consumers and the company's bottom line—before they become headline news.

Outside of BEACON, Joe Toscano also writes for Forbes, is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Steering Committee for Data Protection, and is featured in The Social Dilemma. His work is in the process of being translated into law, putting him in the room with legislators across the United States, including NY State Senate and dozens of Attorney’s General who he submitted evidence in the antitrust case against Google.
