Marcus Dantus is an innovative thinker with broad-based expertise in operations, business development and sales and a proven ability to quickly identify key business drivers and develop strategies to maximize opportunities. Dantus is a startup creator and operator and has led several incubator and accelerator programs.
Marcus Dantus is a pioneer in E-Commerce in Latin America. He established the first Internet Portal in Mexico, built a growing telecommunications solution business and headed a medical device incubator. Dantus founded and led Wayra Mexico (Telefonica's Startup Accelerator), founded and currently heads Mexico's largest entrepreneurial initiative, Startup Mexico. He is also managing director and GP at Dux Capital, an Angel Investor in over 30 companies and advisor and mentor for over 100 startup founders.
Marcus Dantus has experience raising investment in Mexico and the US and building and managing advisory and corporate boards. He is the recipient of multiple international, industry, and corporate awards for superior leadership, performance, and contributions. Commendations included Intel Technology Prize and Endeavor’s Dedication awards.
Marcus Dantus’s other accomplishments include Guest Professor MBA @ IPADE, Startup Creation and financing Module Coordinator - Master of Internet Business @ ISDI. Keynote and invited speaker @ MIT, IPADE, ITAM, CENTRO, UAA, UVM, ITESM and many other venues, over 200 keynotes and panelist appearances in the past 5 years in events for corporations, academy and government on entrepreneurial, venture capital and innovation subjects, and a regular judge in startup competitions in Mexico, Latam, Europe and the US.
